EmeraldSensor: Connecting JDE E1 with the Internet of Things

Imagine being able to predictably maintain your business and prevent downtime within your organization, all through the touch of a button. Consider the possibility of saving time and money while increasing profits. Does it seem impossible? Possibilities can now be reimagined with EmeraldSensor from EmeraldCube.

EmeraldSensor is a revolutionary product and platform that enables JD Edwards EnterpriseOne customers to harness the power of sensors and the Internet of Things. Through IoT, everyday objects have network connectivity allowing them to send and receive data.

The EmeraldSensor Platform is an end-to-end solution, from hardware to comprehensive analytics, which allows sensors to be connected and integrated directly with ERP systems, such as Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The sensors can collect data in virtually any environment, providing real-time data that can be accessed 24/7 by the user. This data can be utilized to provide insight and solve business problems that could not be previously accessed, enabling companies to become more proactive and efficient.

EmeraldCube Cares: The Vine City Code Crew

Our Director of Business Intelligence, Jeremy Harms, is giving back in a very big way. This month, Jeremy gives a moving and inspiring look into his program “The Vine City Code Crew”. Here’s a brief excerpt from his blog:

“Sweaty palms. Dry mouth. Racing heart. And nervous talk. That usually about sums up my physiology just before I talk to a group or present a session as a speaker at a technology conference. Only this time, I was in way over my head, and I knew it.

Initially, I thought the idea I had for the Vine City Code Crew was a good one. But then that first night it began to all sink in: I’ve never worked with youth before (I remember a little bit about being one quite a long time ago). What do I know about kids who live in the inner city anyway? Oh, and I’ve never actually taught a programming class before either. In truth, I don’t even really know the Python language; I’ve only ever played around with it. Suddenly, as I was hastily jacking in all the equipment a few minutes before our first Code Crew class was to begin, this all began to sound like a really bad idea…”
